Chris Moss, SR/WA, RPL - Project Manager
With over 20 years of experience, Chris has worked every aspect of land pertaining to the upstream and midstream sectors in the Oil and Gas Industry. His career and interest in landwork started in surveying and mapping. He then transitioned into becoming the Surface Coordinator for a large energy company for the Cotton Valley play in East Texas, where he oversaw drill site location acquisitions, creation of a lateral line system, landowner negotiations, pit closures, and all required permitting (TXDOT, RRC, etc.). His current role requires title expertise pertaining to mineral, leasehold, and surface, while managing a crew and working with attorneys, as well as in-house landmen to achieve results above expectation.
Chris holds the International Right-of-Way Association’s (IRWA) premier designation, the SR/WA, Senior Right of Way Agent, the highest achievement for the right of way and midstream professional, making him the only SR/WA located in the East Texas Area. He is also a Registered Professional Landman (RPL) through the American Association of Professional Landmen (AAPL). Chris holds a Bachelor of Business Administration from Texas A&M University – Commerce.
Kalen Boren, RPL - Senior Landman
Registered Professional Landman through the American Association of Petroleum Landmen, and member of Board of Directors for North Texas Municipal Water District. A Petroleum Landman with over 15 years of experience in Texas, New Mexico, Oklahoma, Louisiana, Pennsylvania, West Virginia, New York, and Colorado with a background entailing: Full Title Abstracts, Due Diligence, Curative Title, Leasehold Acquisition, Pipeline Acquisition and Pipeline Construction oversight, Electrical Easement Acquisition, Water Rights acquisition, Saltwater Disposal Well Acquisition, and operations thereof.
As Vice President of Land for a private oil and gas company, Kalen proudly managed their Delaware Basin asset and helped secure the private equity backing that funded the project. He built a leasing program that grew the asset from 0 acres to over 20,000 net mineral acres with 140 plus drillable locations in nine (9) months.
Kalen joined Monument Resources in 2010 serving in different roles and began managing a crew in 2020 that is currently executing Leasehold and Mineral abstracts, Curative Title, along with pad site and pipeline negotiation for drilling schedule. Kalen attended Stephen F. Austin State University and Texas Christian University. Kalen has been married to Sheena Boren for ten (10) years with two children Emma and Mason.
Aaron Howard - Senior Landman
Aaron began his career in the oil & gas industry in 2005 as a field landman, and since that time has been involved in all aspects of landwork throughout East Texas, the Permian Basin, Oklahoma, and Louisiana. He has been part of Monument Resources since inception and he has relevant certifications from Midland College, MSU Denver, and University of Houston Downtown He is a Registered Professional Landman with the AAPL and is also a member of the ETAPL, NALTA, and NADOA.
Danielle Howard - Senior Landman
Danielle has been a Petroleum Landman for 15 years and has been a valuable addition to Monument Resources LLC since 2014. Promoted to Crew Chief in 2017, Danielle has continued to excel at overseeing crews across multiple counties throughout East Texas, covering a variety of projects. She enjoys being part of a team and prides herself on her professional management and organizational skills that enable her to collaborate directly with our clients. Her experience, mindfulness, and dedication make her an asset in this industry, as well as being an active member of the ETAPL, AAPL, and NALTA.
Paul Shafer - Senior Landman
Paul is a graduate from the University of Texas Tyler with a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and has 8 years of Petroleum Landman experience covering the state of Texas and New Mexico where he focused primary on Title, Curative Title, Leasing and Suspense Curative. Paul joined Monument Resources in July of 2017 where he has primary focused in on Leasing and Curative Title work. Meeting with Mayors, City Council Members, and residents of the areas focused in on by the client, Paul has had a success rate of leasing over thousands of mineral acres. As of April of 2020, Paul was placed in a leadership role at monument leading their Suspense Curative Team. As of January of 2022, Paul and his team have helped their client release over five million dollars in suspended funds to the royalty owners.
